3. THE GLOBAL WORKFORCE TRENDS TO NAVIGATE IN 2023. ?

What things people want from work?

Today’s economic uncertainty has heightened employee expectations and priorities. Randstad’s latest Workmonitor report surveyed 35,000 employees in 15 countries and shared the voice of working people
about what they want and expect from their employers.

Here are the top 5 things that people want from work:

1. Job security. Many employees feel concerned about potential global recession. 37% of them were worried about losing their job, and more than half were concerned about job security as a result of economic uncertainty.
2. Work-life balance. Over half (61%) of respondents wouldn’t take a job if it disrupted their work-life balance, particularly younger ones aged 18-34.
3. Unretirement. Many older people are returning to work, while others are delaying their retirement plans due to economic factors.
4. Expectations. A rapidly rising cost of living turns people to employers for help. The most desired form of help is a monthly cost of living stipend (41%) followed by an increase in pay outside of the usual cadence of an annual review (39%).
5. Belonging. A desire to achieve a sense of belonging in the workplace is driving career decisions for many.
