1. A BRAND TO FOLLOW: PepsiCo spotlights women.?
@PepsiCo has launched the ‘She is PepsiCo’ campaign to spotlight women in Manufacturing & Operations in North America-Wide Celebration of Women’s History Month. The campaign showcases women who are thriving in frontline roles and aims to inspire more women to join a diverse workforce.
What is interesting about the campaign?

To add, a multi-market TV & digital advertising campaign of 2022 featuring women in frontline careers drove a double-digit increase in PepsiCo frontline women hires last year.

3. NEW REGULATIONS TO FOLLOW: EU addresses pay equity. ?
On 30 March 2023 the European Parliament approved the Pay Transparency Directive, that will change the way businesses operate by mandating pay equity compliance.
Currently in Europe women make 13% less than men for the same work, while in the US – as per the recent Pew Research Center data – there is a gap of 18%.
Some of the Directive key elements include:
1. Pay transparency for job-seekers. Employers must provide transparency regarding pay levels, criteria for career progression. Employers will not be allowed to ask prospective employees about their pay history.
2. Reporting on gender pay gap. Companies with over 100 employees must report pay gap information, and if it exceeds 5%, a pay gap assessment is required to remediate issues.
3. Compensation for employees. Those who have suffered gender pay discrimination can receive compensation.
4. Sanctions will include fines. The Member States should establish specific penalties for infringements of the equal pay rule, including fines.
