3. A STAFF RETENTION STRATEGY TO ADOPT. ?
Employee development directly impacts engagement, retention and business success. Culture Amp’s research shows that employees with no consistent development opportunities are 2x more likely to leave within a year. Lack of career growth and development was the top reason selected at the time of employee exit.
How to retain your talent and enhance business performance?
WEF shares 5 strategies how to design development programs for humans rather than employees. They are:
1. Developing employees. The development strategy should focus on 3 core areas: business needs, current skills, individual aspirations, passions & motivations.
2. Reframing learning. Take a holistic approach to learning & education at work and show your employees these opportunities in line with 3 E’s: education, exposure & experience.
3. Personalizing development. Taking a personalized approach to learning & development and focusing on human skills empowers employees and builds better workplaces.
4. Collaborating and sparking conversations. Actively listening to employees and engaging them in open conversations is vital – it helps them feel heard and valued.
5. Embedding development in your DNA. Companies that focus on employee development do better on many business outcomes (headcount growth, funding, etc).
