@Lidl, UK has just launched a new ‘celebrity’ endorsement campaign for their range of Suddenly and G.Bellini perfumes. They have featured the supermarket employees – Adele, Shakira, Robbie Williams & Chris Pratt – who just happen to share the names with the A-list celebrities.

What is interesting about the campaign?

TikToks related to ‘viral Lidl perfume’ have collectively racked up 724.4 million views, encouraging viewers to ‘run don’t walk’ to get their scents.

@Lloyds Banking Group stood out in the market with their ‘Imagine What’s Next’ campaign when engaging students on campus. They came up with a futuristic installation where students could imagine their digital future in a fully immersive experience.

The Group has won the RAD Award 2024 for the events and experiential category.

A unique hero film was tailored to the Gen Z audience and featured LBG graduates & apprentices as stars.

The campaign reached great heights with 214,945 website visitors, 26.6% rise in applications and 169% increase in tech engineering grad scheme.

According to @PeopleScout, the rapid advancement of AI, accelerated digitalization, the greening of the economy & workforce demographic shifts are driving the demand for skilled talent at a very fast rate. They have issued the Global Labor Trends & the Skills Countdown research and the key takeaways are:

1. Talent shortages are widespread across industries like education, healthcare and

technology, with 80% of organizations struggling to recruit skilled talent. However,

only 7% of HR leaders feel fully prepared with workforce strategies to reskill & adapt.

2. Technology adoption is accelerating the need to evolve skills, with 50% of roles

expected to transform & require new abilities. However, 34% of employers have

no preparations in place to ready staff for automation and AI integration.

3. There is a mismatch when it comes to the perceived importance of technology skills, with both employers & employees ranking it 2nd to last, despite skyrocketing

demand. Closing widening skills gaps needs better alignment on the critical nature of tech literacy.
